How it works
- Choose your plan.Pick your destination and how much data you need.
- Get your eSIM by email.A QR code arrives within minutes. Scan it to install, ideally the day before you fly.
- Land and you're online.Switch on the Tetherd line when you arrive. Your plan starts then, not before.

Plans change. That's fine.
Until your eSIM is installed, you can get a full refund for any reason.
- Trip cancelled or moved?If you haven't installed your eSIM yet, we'll refund it in full. Just email us.
- Phone can't use it?If your phone turns out not to support eSIM, or it's locked, we'll refund it in full before you install.
- Not working when you land?We'll help you get connected. If we can't, you'll get a new eSIM or your money back.
Before you buy
- Your phone needs eSIM.Most iPhones from the XS and XR onwards, and recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel phones, support it. Check your phone
- It must be unlocked.A phone locked to one carrier can't add another eSIM. Phones bought outright usually aren't locked.
- Your own SIM stays put.Keep your number for calls and texts. Tetherd only handles your data.
- Hotspot works.Share your data with a laptop or tablet on every plan.
- One eSIM per phone.Each eSIM installs on one phone. Travelling with others? Each phone needs its own.
- Keep it installed.Don't delete the eSIM until your trip is over. A deleted eSIM usually can't be put back.
Questions
When should I install my eSIM?
The day before you fly, while you're on home wi-fi. Installing doesn't start your plan. It starts when your phone first connects to a network at your destination.
How far ahead can I buy?
Up to six months before you travel. Your plan's days only start counting once you arrive and connect.
What happens when my data runs out?
Your data simply stops, so there's never a surprise bill. You can buy another plan for the same trip and be back online in minutes.
Will I still get calls and texts on my number?
Your own SIM stays in your phone, so you can still receive calls and texts if your carrier's roaming allows it. Your carrier may charge for these. Tetherd plans are data only, so apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime and Messenger work over your Tetherd data.
Can I share my data with a laptop?
Yes. Hotspot works on every Tetherd plan, so you can share your data with a laptop, tablet or a friend's phone.
What if my trip is cancelled?
If you haven't installed the eSIM yet, email us and we'll refund it in full. See the refund policy.
When can I buy?
